How to Adjust the Time on Your Hyundai’s Clock
Clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Your phone updates itself, but your Hyundai might not. The good news: it only takes a minute.
Find your Hyundai below. Most models from about 2017 on have a touchscreen. Older models usually use radio buttons and a knob. Not sure which you have? If your screen responds to touch, start with Newer Hyundais.
Newer Hyundais (About 2017 and Newer, Touchscreen)
Applies to most Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, Elantra, Sonata, Kona, Venue, Santa Cruz, IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 models with a touchscreen or navigation.
How to Change Your Hyundai Clock
- Start your vehicle (or turn it to ACC) so the screen is on.
- Open Settings. Press the SETUP button by the screen, or tap the Settings (gear) icon on the home screen.
- Find the clock. Tap Date/Time or Clock. On some newer models it’s under General first.
- Turn Daylight Saving Time OFF. This is the step most people miss in the fall. If you turned it on in March, switching it off moves the clock back one hour.
- Check the time. If it’s still off, see below. Then tap the back arrow to exit.
If Your Clock Still Isn’t Right
- GPS Time: most systems can set the time from GPS. Leave GPS Time on, and make sure your time zone is set to Central.
- Setting it by hand: turn GPS Time off first. Then pick the hour and minute and set them with the on-screen arrows.
- Gauge cluster clock: on most newer models it follows the touchscreen, so you only have to change it once.
Menu names vary slightly by model and year. Your owner’s manual has the exact steps.
Older Hyundais (About 2016 and Older, Buttons and Knobs)
Older Hyundais set the clock in one of two ways. Check your dash for a SETUP or CLOCK button on the radio, or a small separate clock with H and M buttons.
Option A: Radio with a SETUP or CLOCK Button (About 2010–2016)
- Turn the key to ACC or ON.
- Press SETUP (on some radios, press and hold CLOCK).
- Select Clock by turning the TUNE knob, then press the knob to choose it.
- Set the hour with the TUNE knob (back one hour for fall), then press the knob.
- Set the minutes the same way, and press the knob to save.
Option B: Separate Digital Clock with H and M Buttons (About 2009 and Older)
- Turn the key to ACC or ON.
- Press H to move the hour forward. To fall back one hour, press it until the clock goes all the way around (11 presses).
- Press M to adjust the minutes if needed.
Tip: if your radio’s clock goes blank or resets after a battery change, use the same steps to set it again.
Button names and positions vary by model. Your owner’s manual has the exact steps.
