2015 Hyundai Genesis to Come With AWD 'HTRAC'

Those of us at Walser Hyundai are quite excited by the recent renderings released depicting the 2015 Genesis, set to be officially revealed early next year. Built on the design of the HCD-14 Genesis Concept we saw some months ago, we think it will be a stellar addition to the new Hyundai vehicles on our lot.

But that's not all you have to look forward to. The automaker has also announced that the next-generation Genesis will come with their new all-wheel drive system, called HTRAC.

Understanding the name is fairly simple: the 'H' stands for 'Hyundai,' while the 'TRAC' stands for--you guessed it--'traction'. And given that the South Korean manufacturer's autos have been lacking in the AWD department, this technology will make the new Genesis an even more attractive vehicle to those living in colder climates.

But how does it work?

The new HTRAC system will feature several driving modes that can be controlled electronically. On the drivetrain end, HTRAC will divide the torque between the front and rear axles, allowing drivers a much more optimized, and safe experience.

At the moment, the HTRAC system is currently being tested on various proving grounds and in different driving conditions throughout the world to fine tune its performance.

Although it may be a little while before the new Genesis hits our showroom, we think that the new HTRAC system will be a hit for drivers in Minneapolis. If you're eager for more information on this system, get in touch with us through our website, or drop by our showroom. You're welcome to check out the 2013 Genesis, pictured below:
