Santa Fe Exterior2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe saw recent changes to its body style with the redesign in 2021. A wide three-dimensional grille dominates the front end. Flanking the grille are two-sectioned LED headlights meant to create a striking T-shape. The rear also features sculpted LED taillights connected by a reflector accent that spans the liftgate. A long-defined hood and character lines moving down the side of the SUV help make the Santa Fe one of the boldest SUVs on the market.

The newer 2023 XRT trim adds further ruggedness to the Santa Fe. Dark moldings are added along the lower portion of the Santa Fe from the front to the rear bumper. A stealthy matte-black grille replaces the classic silver grille. Below sits a dark gray skid plate. The XRT features exclusive 18-inch dark alloy wheels to complete the look further.

Front heated and ventilated seats are also available with heating elements that can be optioned for the rear seats. For those looking for the most luxury, turn to the Calligraphy trim. The seats and door panels are finished in plush quilted Nappa leather, with the headliner finished in an eco-suede.

The new Santa Fe comes with plenty of room for any Minnesota family. Headroom sits at 41.2 and 39.0 inches for the front and rear passengers, respectively. SE & Hybrid Blue

The 2023 Santa Fe SE and Hybrid Blue are the base models for the gasoline and hybrid versions, respectively. Both are well equipped with LED exterior lighting and an 8-inch center touchscreen display. Each trim comes with compatibility for both Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

The hybrid model is slightly better equipped with standard HTRAC all-wheel drive and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Both models, however, come with a significant number of driver aids. With Hyundai SmartSense, Minneapolis drivers get active safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance and Lane Keeping Assist.

SEL (Gasoline, Hybrid, Plug-in)

The SEL trim is the next step up for both the gasoline and hybrid models. On the plug-in Santa Fe, it’s offered as its base trim level. The SEL model features more convenience features such as keyless entry and push-button start. It also adds heated front seats and wireless smartphone charging.

The hybrid and plug-in SEL trims are more well equipped. These trims come with HTRAC AWD as standard. The interior features leather seating and an upgraded 10.25-inch center screen powering a more extensive 12-speaker audio setup. The hybrid SEL trim also comes equipped with a panoramic roof.

XRT

Making its introduction in 2022 was the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT trim. Building on the SEL trim’s convenience package, the XRT brings a more rugged look to the Santa Fe. The trim adds a different molding to the lower front and rear bumpers, along with dark silver skid plates. The dark molding also extends to the side of the Santa Fe, sitting below the doors.

The XRT also has exclusive 18-inch dark alloy wheels and side steps. A matte-black grille also replaces the previously silver one. Black roof rails and cross rails also come standard.

Limited (Gasoline, Hybrid, Plug-in)

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited comes with all the features found in the premium and convenience packages as standard. The gasoline model includes a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and 12-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system. The gasoline model also comes with the more powerful 281 HP 2.5L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder engine as standard. Leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof are also added for the Limited trim.

All limited models gain larger 19-inch wheels and ventilation added to the front seats, and heating added to the rear seats. The driver’s seat also gains additional adjustment options.

Calligraphy

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy trim only comes as a gasoline model. The Calligraphy trim adds further luxury to the Santa Fe. The trim level comes with all the latest features, trim-exclusive wheels, and a dark chrome grille. The interior features the most noticeable upgrade. Replacing the regular leather is a beautiful quilted Nappa Leather upholstery. Additionally, the headliner is now finished in Eco-Suede.

Sant Fe Performance

The 2023 Hyundai Sante Fe is available in four different powertrains for Minnesota drivers. The standard engine for the gasoline model is a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine making 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. A more powerful turbocharged version is also offered, producing 281 hp and 311 lb-ft. Both of these engines can be connected to a FWD or AWD setup. Fuel efficiency is excellent, with a city/highway rating of 25/28 and 22/25 mpg for the FWD and AWD models paired with the non-turbo engine. The more powerful engine manages a rating of 22/28 and 21/28 mpg for FWD and AWD, respectively.

There is a single-engine option with the hybrid version, pairing a turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder with an electric motor with an output of 226 hp. The hybrid model comes with the HTRAC AWD as standard. As expected, the hybrid model can achieve a greater fuel efficiency of 36/31 mpg, a remarkable feat for any SUV.

The 2023 Santa Fe is also offered in a Plug-in Hybrid version. The PHEV takes the existing 1.6L turbo and combines it with a large electric motor. The total power for this setup is 261 hp. This new model carries a combined mpg rating of 33 and an MPGe of 76. Using its 13.8 kWh battery, this model can go 30 miles on nothing but electric power.

Santa Fe Safety

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe can provide top-notch safety for any Minnesota driver. The SUV has earned a five-star crash safety rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS.

Along with good crash survivability, the Santa Fe has plenty of driver assistance features through Hyundai SmartSense. Some of the safety features that come standard on all Santa Fes include:

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA). The Santa Fe will alert the driver of any oncoming traffic or obstructions while backing up.
