The 2023 Hyundai Sonata comes with 3 different engine options depending on the trim level.
Except for the N Line which uses an 8-speed N Wet Dual-Clutch transmission, the rest of the trim levels use a Smartstream 8-speed electronic automatic with SHIFTRONIC®, Shift-by-Wire (SBW), and overdrive lock-up torque converter. The Sonata also comes standard with an electronic shift button that uses the shift-by-wire technology, offering smoother gear changes and better fuel economy on the highway.
Speaking of fuel efficiency, the Sonata can get up to 38 mpg on the highway and up to 28 mpg in the city. This ranks super competitively among its class. The Sonata is able to achieve these numbers due to its improved aerodynamics giving it better fuel efficiency.
