Local car dealers are seeing an abundance of customers looking for a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe for sale. The Santa Fe has been a leader in its class, even being named a Best New Car of 2021 by Autotrader.
With its new redesign, the Santa Fe brings more options for 2022. An all-new XRT trim level refreshes the compact SUV with a more rugged design. Additionally, the Santa Fe has gained a plug-in version providing further fuel savings and 30 miles of all-electric range.
The Hyundai Santa Fe saw recent changes to its body style with last year’s redesign. A wide three-dimensional grille dominates the front end. Flanking the grille are two-sectioned LED headlights meant to create a striking T-shape. The rear also features sculpted LED taillights connected by a reflector accent that spans the liftgate. A long-defined hood and character lines moving down the side of the SUV help make the Santa Fe one of the boldest SUVs on the market.
The new 2022 XRT trim adds further ruggedness to the Santa Fe. Dark moldings are added along the lower portion of the Santa Fe from front to rear bumper. A stealthy matte-black grille replaces the classic silver grille. Below sits a dark gray skid plate. The XRT features exclusive 18-inch dark alloy wheels to complete the look further.
The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe interior punches above its price range. The tastefully designed interior features contrasting materials and shapes, adding much visual appeal. In the center sits a high-positioned 8-inch touchscreen that can be upgraded to a 10.25-inch version. The included infotainment system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An optional 12-speaker Harmon Kardon premium sound system is also available.
Additionally, the available panoramic roof can let the light shine down on the optional leather seats. Front heated and ventilated seats are also available with heating elements that can be optioned for the rear seats. For those looking for the most luxury, turn to the Calligraphy trim. The seats and door panels are finished in plush quilted Nappa leather, with the headliner finished in an eco-suede.
The new Santa Fe comes with plenty of room for any Minnesota family. Headroom sits at 41.2 and 39.0 inches for the front and rear passengers, respectively. Lengthy legroom is also available with 44.1 and 41.7 inches of space for front and rear occupants. Behind the rear seats sits 36.4 cubic feet of cargo room. Folding the rear seats increases the available cargo room to a whopping 72.1 cubic feet.

Making its introduction for 2022 is the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT trim. Building on the SEL trim’s convenience package, the XRT brings a more rugged look to the Santa Fe. The trim adds a different molding to the lower front and rear bumpers, along with dark silver skid plates. The dark molding also extends to the side of the Santa Fe, sitting below the doors.
The XRT also has exclusive 18-inch dark alloy wheels and side steps. A matte-black grille also replaces the previously silver one. Black roof rails and cross rails also come standard.
The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited comes with all the features found in the premium and convenience packages as standard. The gasoline model includes a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and 12-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system. The gasoline model also comes with the more powerful 281 HP 2.5L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder engine as standard. Leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof are also added for the Limited trim.
All limited models gain larger 19-inch wheels and ventilation added to the front seats, and heating added to the rear seats. The driver’s seat also gains additional adjustment options.
The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy trim is limited to the gasoline model. The Calligraphy trim adds further luxury to the Santa Fe. The trim level comes with all the latest features, trim-exclusive wheels, and a dark chrome grille. The interior features the most noticeable upgrade. Replacing the regular leather is a beautiful quilted Nappa Leather upholstery. Additionally, the headliner is now finished in Eco-Suede.
The 2022 Hyundai Sante Fe is available in four different powertrains for Twin Cities drivers. The standard engine for the gasoline model is a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine making 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. A more powerful turbocharged version is also offered, producing 281 hp and 311 lb-ft. Both of these engines can be connected to a FWD or AWD setup. Fuel efficiency is excellent, with a city/highway rating of 25/28 and 22/25 mpg for the FWD and AWD models paired with the non-turbo engine. As expected, the hybrid model can achieve a greater fuel efficiency of 36/31 mpg, a remarkable feat for any SUV.
