As we inch closer to the year's end, you can bet that Walser Hyundai, serving the greater Minneapolis area, is also counting down the days to the Detroit Auto Show. The massive exposition only comes once a year, and it features some of the most prominent vehicle manufacturers in the world today.
What does Hyundai have in store for the crowd? The South Korean automaker is planning to show off a redesigned version of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe for the 2013 model year. The already capable 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe features either a 210-horsepower 4-cylinder engine or a 306-horsepower V6. This begs the question, what could Hyundai possibly do to improve upon such automotive perfection?
The answer is simple: Crank its performance up to 11! In its 2013 model year, the Genesis Coupe is expected to feature a sleek and aerodynamic exterior overhaul, which gives it a more menacing presence than ever before. Of course, Hyundai knows that aside from talking the talk, the performance-driven coupe will need to be able to walk the walk... or should we say drive?
Either way, the entry-level 4-cylinder Hyundai Genesis Coupe sees an incredible 61-horsepower and 52-lb.-ft. of torque increase. This brings its total stats to 271-hp and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, thanks to its new twin-scroll turbocharger and larger intercooler. Meanwhile, the ramped-up V6 model sees an impressive 39-hp and 29-lb.-ft. of torque increase thanks to its direct injector, bringing its total performance up to 345 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque.
